The Kinks’ classic album ‘The Village Green Preservation Society’ is possibly the most quintessentially English album ever made. Recorded in 1968, it was effectively a concept album; a collection of 15 songs (or 12 on the European release if you want to be pedantic) lamenting the lost traditions of English village life.
