Today’s favourite comes from sleazy rockers Grinderman. ‘Mickey Mouse & The Goodbye Man’, the next single to be released from the critically acclaimed album ‘Grinderman 2′. Released on 11th July (rumours that it’s being released to celebrate my birthday are currently unsubstantiated), it will be available as a download and limited 12″ black and white picture disc which will include a live French TV version and a brand new Josh Homme remix, renamed by Josh as Mickey Bloody Mouse. Grinderman have announced details of their next single to be released from their critically acclaimed album, Grinderman 2. ‘Mickey Mouse and The goodbye man’ will be released by Mute on 13th June as a download and 12’’. Along with the album version of Mickey Mouse and the Goodbye Man, the 12” format will include exclusive tracks and a brand new Josh Homme remix. Read more…

I’m sure you know by now that Grinderman is the side project of Nick Cave and three of the Bad Seeds, Warren Ellis, Jim Sclavunos and Martyn P. Casey. Totally unconcerned with commercial success Grinderman man seems to be the conduit through which the four players can release their inner beasts without alienating their considerable Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds fanbase.

Grinderman release their new nine-track studio album through Mute on 13th September 2010. Entitled Grinderman 2, the album was recorded at London’s State of The Ark and Assault and Battery studios, and co-produced by Grinderman and Nick Launay.
