News: Canada’s Karkwa announce intimate UK shows
Here in the UK Karkwa are pretty much an unknown quantity, but the French Canadian band from Montreal are a big deal back home. Already they’ve played in front of a 100,000 strong audience in support of fellow Canadians Arcade Fire and last year they broke the record for the biggest selling digital Francophone album in Canada. They’ve also been awarded the Polaris Prize, the equivalent of the Mercury Music Prize. So it’s with some excitement that we can tell you the band are heading over to the UK to play two initmate shows in London’s Windmill and Brighton’s The Haunt. God only knows how their incendiary live performance will translate to such small venues but you can guarantee they’ll be gigs people will talk about for years to come!
Dates:
London, The Brixton Windmill, 24/10/11 (with Dubious Caeser)
Brighton, The Haunt, 25/10/11 (with Peggy Sue)
