News: X-Ray Spex singer Poly Styrene dies aged 53
Poly Styrene, lea singer of punk rock band X-Ray Spex has died aged 53 after apparently losing a fight against cancer. The singer, born Marianne Elliot and described by Billboard magazine as ‘the archetype for the modern-day feminist punk’, was most famous for her time in X-Ray Spex, which she formed after seeing the Sex Pistols play live in 1975.
