For the second of today’s Retro Sunday videos we have a live performance of ‘Where’s Captain Kirk’ by Spizzenergie.
Formed in 1977 by Kenneth Spiers (Spizz) the band changed it’s name each year and were known variously as Spizzenergi, Spizzoil, Athletico Spizz Co, Athletico Spizz 80 and The Spizzles. 1979′s ‘Where’s Captain Kirk’ was the band’s biggest hit and had the distinction of being the first record to top the Indie Charts, formed in 1979. The band were also the first to sign to Rough Trade Records. By 1982 the New Wave scene was dead, Post Punk had taken over and the band split. Read more…
