The Destroyers – ‘Hole in the Universe’(album): Lively gypsy folk from the Birmingham conservatoire. Like Gogol Bordello without the alcohol.
The Colour Movement – ‘Future Man’(single): Electro pop from London with over the top vocals, too many blips and beeps, no chorus and no discernible rhythm.
Tribes – ‘Corner of an English Field’(single): A ‘Mott The Hoople-esque’ slow one from The Tribes boys and the fourth song to be lifted from the brilliant ‘Baby’. A great song but time to stop mining the album and release some new material!
The Milk – ‘Broke Up The Family’(single): Forgettable Fast and loud but ultimately forgettable rock ‘n’ roll with a belting vocal. B/w some of the worst remixes I’ve ever had the displeasure to hear.
Today for your viewing pleasure we’re thrilled to bring you the official promo for the new single from one of our favourite bands, Tribes. ‘Corner Of An English Field’, the fourth single to be taken from the band’s debut album ‘Baby’, is released on the 2nd April and supported by a UK headline tour before the boys head off to SXSW.

I don’t know exactly what it is about Camden’s Tribes, but with every song I hear they edge a little closer to being one of my favourite bands of the current crop. So when I got home and found this, their third single (and last release this year) on my doorstep it was with great excitement that I popped it into my CD player. As with previous releases it’s a joyously slack blast of upbeat, lo-fi guitar pop with Johnny Lloyd singing exuberantly of the joys of being young. ‘When My Day Comes’ is over far too quickly, comes and goes in under 3 minutes but what a great three minutes it is! Bring on the album!
Whilst we wait with growing anitcipation for their debut album, Tribes have released a brand new video for ‘When My Day Comes’ and vry good it is too. But don’t take my word for it, see for yourself!
Today’s video comes from Tribes. ‘Sappho’ is the band’s next single, released in August and the official video finds the band dressed in drag… enjoy! Read more…
With a sound that falls somewhere between the fuzzy raw guitars of grunge, the glam rock of Mott The Hoople and the shambolic nature of the Libertines, and a support slot with US alt rock heavyweights The Pixies, there’s been quite a lot of hype around Camden’s Tribes, and they haven’t even released a record yet!
